Yay!! Congrats on the new job... and you gave me a special gift: you're staying!!
Not only do I enjoy what you write but you're my go-to guy for staying inside the loop of relevance. You don't need to join the military to fight the war... you possess the finest weapon money can't buy: your talented use of words. Thank you for your work... for staying... and now, will you share about Medium censorship? I'm new. On here it's difficult to get exposure, so I started doing a little over there. Thoughts? Maybe another platform?
I still like Medium and will continue to write on it, but it's definitely worth to write on multiple platforms. I talk to Tim Denning occasionally and even he's been banned on LinkedIn and MailChimp. You gotta have multiple platforms or you won't make it. Lesson learned.
Much to unwind but first YES! Your talents are obvious so forward. The warriors weapon you wield is the quill and it is formidable.
I will sign up for the publication and give it a read.
Now "censorship" on medium please explain.
Interesting use - of "ctd" you use it as a metaphor but misquote the origin - though I am being a PITA mentioning it - the origins live in the use of opium in dens- not crack- only reason I correct it is I lost some people in the 80s to opium, crack and meth so in some bizzar way I feel obligated to mention the err or misuse. Me I never touched that shit I was to busy surfing and building a business. But so many Hollywood friends got lost.
Hahaha yeah I was just trying to make a joke. The dragon is heroin, yeah? Guess I should make the correct drug references since Hunter Thompson and Wolfe are some of my favorite writers. Sorry for your friends.
It would be a loss if you were to stop writing, Im a bricklayer from the UK and although I don’t follow everything you write about, what I do read I find interesting. Im also a crypto head 😊 Your article on Black rock stood out for me, very well written. One last thing, on your recommendation I bought a copy of Tao Te Ching and then bought a second copy for someone else. The ripple effect of your work Sir . Happy xmas Isaiah
Whatever you do for employment can be an offering of your service.
But to find true meaning, spend at least 20 hours a week investing in others. The work you do to move someone out of dependence to independence, without an expectation of pay nor payback, will give you joy and contentment.
Open you home, your dinner table, and you dayplanner to someone who needs you.
As an initial matter, I don't have much insight into what would be the best path for you. So, take this for what it's worth, but I think reversing course on a military career definitely is the right move.
I have nothing against rank-and-file military, and I can sympathize with the idea that it may provide an adventure, offering greater insight on life. But, I do believe you also have to consider which master you are serving. 25-30 years ago, I wouldn't have said this, but I believe the military has been thoroughly corrupted at this point. So, while you might have gone on an adventure, it's more likely it would have been adventurism at the expense of some third-world country who didn't ask to have a bunch of "democracy" dropped on it's population.
You're a gifted writer. You always pick interesting topics. It sounds like that and running are your calling. I'm glad you're sticking with both. Congrats on the new job!

Congrats! I too feel like I need a change because I am so bored with my job. So after the holidays I am going to make a change too!
