Censorship is nothing new. It's been around since the days of Plato and Socrates. But in today's day and age, it's taken on a whole new meaning.
On Friday Medium.com removed my article "Being a Democrat is Easy, It's Why a Red Wave is Coming."
According to them, it was censored "due to elevated risk of potential harm to persons or public health" regarding information covering COVID-19.
I'm not sure what they were expecting. The article wasn't about how to make a bomb or how to spread the virus. It was a CDC-sourced, WHO-sourced, and NewsGuard-vetted critique of vaccine effectiveness, misinformation peddled by Joe Biden and Rachel Maddow, and the political game-playing with people's lives.
I guess facts are now considered "harmful" if they go against the narrative.
When I reached out to Medium they didn't explain precisely how I violated the rules, they only directed me toward a page about COVID-19 Vaccine health. It's like a game of Where's Waldo to find out why you were censored:
I'll admit, I came off aggressive in my article but it's only because I'm sick and tired of Black Americans feeling like they have to vote for Democrats no matter how corrupt and incompetent they are; I'm sick and tired of living in an environment where any criticism against the handling of COVID-19 is met with cries of "You're a denier!"; and I'm sick and tired of feeling sick and tired.
One last note, I’m not a Republican or a Democrat. I’m a political homeless man. This article was a fight for critical thinking and against party-line voting, nothing more.
Please support my work here as I think I’m going to have to publish any contentious story on Substack, rather than Medium in the future.
Here's the full article, posted below:
Being a Democrat is Easy, it’s Why a Red Wave is Coming
Growing up Black in America has not been easy.
I’ve been discriminated against, bullied, pulled over by police, and not had every opportunity laid at my feet, as it rightly should.
I blame the White man. I blame the patriarchy. I blame Donald Trump (that goes without saying). I blame capitalism, billionaires, racism, country music, the NRA, and anyone else who I cannot think of blaming right now.
Why isn’t the world fair? I’m the victim here.
This attitude, this democrat-led victim mentality, is exactly why Dems have lost the working class. It’s why they’re losing the Latino vote who are seeing past the propaganda and lies; and it’s why they will lose big next Tuesday in the midterm elections.
Americans are sick and tired of the woke insanity.
Many won’t say this out loud. I will.
As someone who leaned left for most of my life, democratic politics have become a perversion of everything I used to believe in. It’s like they’ve taken a page out of Orwell’s “1984” and inverted reality. It’s why Obama called his party a “buzzkill:”
“Democrats can be buzzkills, right? Sometimes people just want to not feel as if they are walking on eggshells… and that all of us at any given moment can say things the wrong way, make mistakes.” — Obama
Tuesday’s election will be vindication that the voters en masse are aware of the moral, ideological, and mental bankruptcy that is the modern Democratic Party and “progressivism” in general.
That being said, if Dems ever want to reform: Here are the key issues where they failed, and ostensibly how they can learn from their mistakes.
Covid: The great manipulator of 2020
Atlantic writer Emily Oster called for “pandemic amnesty,” this week saying: “We need to forgive one another for what we did and said when we were in the dark about COVID.”
Hm, how about, on behalf of the millions of Americans who lost their jobs from lockdowns, who were treated like shit in real life and on social media for being hesitant about vaccines that are ineffective, who needed vaccine passports in L.A., NY, and most blue states across the country, and who had to watch their kids do virtual learning in a basement, kindly go to hell.
I’m not mad that we initially locked down the economy after the outbreak, or closed schools in the Spring of 2020 — I’m mad that we continued to do so even after we knew the data and science didn’t support it! Do you know what’s worse? Joe Biden, Rachel Maddow, CDC Director Rochelle Walensky, Anthony Fauci, and to be fair, Ben Shapiro all said you WOULDN’T get COVID after getting vaccinated.
They lied. They lied like the politicians they are. And to add insult to injury, the CDC Director recently tested positive for COVID again despite being boosted 4+ times. It’s a real-life “Monty Python” skit.
None of these “experts” told Americans to work out, or to lose weight, or that several studies found natural immunity and good health were the most substantial ways to defend against COVID.
Joe Rogan was crucified for saying this. It’s common sense.
Moreover, as Florida Governor Ron Desantis tweeted in 2021 when he opened his state up:
COVID Death Rates (According to CDC data at the time):
0–19: 99.997%
20–49: 99.98%
50–69: 99.5%
70+: 94.6%
Education: Kids are objectively dumber
Remote learning lowered test scores in every state — and was way worse for minorities. In fact, in 2020, 16% of Hispanic students and 15% of Black students in the US had no live access to teachers and 60% of teachers lamented that they could not teach the material properly.
And, who was it that wanted more remote learning?
The same politicians who called for more lockdowns: Mostly Democrats (admittedly these Republican as well)
Here in NY our governor Kathy Hochul had to publicly apologize for extending remote learning, and it’s one of the reasons why she might lose to a Republican… in NY of all places!! If you mess with kids, voters will have a long memory.
Democrat-led economy: Let’s ban profits
Average inflation under Donald Trump’s presidency was 2.1% in 2017; 2.4% in 2018; 1.8% in 2019; and 1.2% in 2020, according to USInflationCalculator.com. Average inflation for President Biden’s administration was 4.7% for all of 2021, and reached a record high of 9.06% in June this year.
I want to give Biden the benefit of the doubt here.
Inflation was always going to be high coming out of a pandemic.
However, how he handled this problem is a microcosm of how he’s handled his entire presidency:
1) He refused to acknowledge there was a problem.
2) He blamed Trump.
3) He blamed Putin (even though gas prices were objectively rising beforehand)
4) He killed Main Street by never separating the Democratic party from the riots and small biz destruction of the Kyle Rittenhouse trial and many ideological riots in big cities.
5) He’s continuing to spend trillions of dollars we don’t have on things like the “inflation reduction act” which is a climate bill all but in name.
Although I can give Biden a slight break on the inflation problem, other voters won’t be so kind. Bill Clinton once famously said, “It’s the economy stupid;” meaning, when it comes down to it, people vote with their wallets.
If inflation continues to rise, Americans blame the incumbent president.
Violence and ‘Defunding the Police’
I’ll give Democrats more benefit of the doubt.
The data on violent crime is mixed.
According to incomplete data released by the FBI, violent crime fell by an estimated 1% in 2021 compared with the previous year. However, the number of murders increased by more than 4%.
Important to note that the FBI report left out the biggest US cities, including New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco. So there’s that.
I’d have to imagine the crime narrative is what you see in your own community every day more than anything else.
Though, Democrats don’t do themselves any favors by being the party that is seen as ‘defunding the police.’ It’s a dog whistle to any tax-paying voter who likes law and order, which is a majority of Americans.
Free Speech and Woke Politics
Fifth, and finally, ‘woke-ism’.
Malcolm X always believed that liberals were a sly and deceitful fox trying to seduce the Black and Hispanic communities with empty promises.
He was right.
The left has weaponized identity politics to the point where they’re now eating their own. If anything, as Malcolm said, minority communities should try and hold their votes hostage and make both parties work for it; rather than give it to a party that puts on a virtuous veneer.
The Latino community is finally doing this.
The Black community should too.
This doesn’t mean you have to vote Republican. Just don’t give your vote away for free without considering the alternative. It would show someone like Joe Biden — who famously said “if you don’t vote for me, you ain’t black” — that minority communities won’t be taken for granted anymore.
Is the Democrat Party Dead?
Honestly, I’m not sure.
My Democratic heroes: John F. Kennedy, Theodore Roosevelt, and even FDR, would not recognize the party today.
The Democratic party has been overtaken by Marxists who benefit from capitalism, coastal elites, grossly iconoclastic post-modernists, college-educated dilettantes, radical feminists, racists, and Hollywood celebrities who want to control your life and tell you what to do.
They ignore the free speech drum that George Orwell, a socialist, beat; the same drum that Noam Chomsky, a socialist, beat; and the same drum that MLK, a Democrat, beat.
I’m not a registered Republican, nor do I want to be one.
Yet I have no faith in the Democrat party anymore.
I’m a political homeless man, and, for now, I’ll vote the party that cares about the working class and doesn’t want to control my life.
The Republican party, for all its faults, is that party… for now.
Have you seen Simon Rosenberg on YouTube? Check it out. Great news there on this mess. Ty
Pre-Substack, I spent a lot of time on Medium. I was probably well-within their target audience for potential subscribers. I even wrote a few satirical articles on the current state of politics.
Then, they shadow-banned me. My articles were pure satire, but I suspect satire is lost on algorithms. Plus, just like mainstream reporting on Russia-gate and so many other things, mistakes get made, and they all happen to go in one direction (hint, it ain't pro-Red).
You're better off without Medium. I never subscribed there, and I rarely even hit the '3 monthly reads then paywall' cap any more. It's become less and less relevant as Substack takes off. Honestly, the quicker we eliminate these censorious platforms, the better.
Keep up the great work.
