“Splitting revenue with video creators like YouTube could be a huge unlock. We could literally give video creators 100% of their ad revenue up to $1m then do split.”
— Elon Musk Private Twitter Texts
I know, you've heard enough about Elon Musk buying Twitter, but let me give you 2 minutes on what's happening (that the mainstream media won’t cover) because Elon is trying to make Twitter the new YouTube.
It's freaking crazy man.
A few days ago highly classified messages about the Twitter deal were leaked. These texts are an absolute MASTERCLASS in how things get done at the highest level. Do CEOs like Elon Musk, Jack Dorsey, Larry Ellison and Joe Rogan decide the fate of the world in corporate board rooms?
No.
They do it over group chat, apparently:
"It will be a delicate game of letting right-wingers back on Twitter and how to navigate that, especially the boss himself, if you're up for that." — Elon Musk Private Twitter Texts
The boss? Are we talking about Donald Trump? Possibly.
Anyway, in a nutshell, Elon not only wants to make Twitter the FREE SPEECH platform — which has already caused the left to create their own version of Twitter; more on that later — but he also wants to make Twitter compete against YouTube.
Here’s what he has planned:
Twitter Video: Elon wants to put together a dedicated CONTENT CREATION team that publishes on Twitter first, and he plans on doing this by giving creators the best % ad revenue split in the industry. (Allegedly it would be a 100% split; YouTube's is only 55%)
Transparency Team: He wants to make the algorithm for these creators more understandable and fair, so he's putting together a "transparency team".
Mr. Beast: Elon wants to recruit Mr. Beast as a dedicated Twitter creator, and I’m assuming they have other creators in mind as well. (Me!? No, I didn't get the call... yet)
Blockchain Twitter: You will have to pay tiny amounts of crypto to post on Twitter now which will cut out the vast majority of spam and bots. He also wants a blockchain database.
Pay For DMs: You will be able to DM who you want for .01 a DM (500,000 followers = $5,000) so if you want to promote a podcast or new book you can message a celeb.
Massive Layoffs: Elon is considering cutting staff at Twitter from 8,000 to 3,000, and he’s reportedly planning on doing this on day one. Yikes.
Twitter is basically going to have its own economy, with a native currency (crypto), and a way to monetize every aspect of the platform.
It's like they're trying to build a new internet, and it's going to be fascinating to watch.
Okay, before I get out of here and let you enjoy your Friday one more point of business:
Tribel is the big Twitter alternative for leftists now that Elon is taking over.
(It's basically called Tribal SMH)
Go here and behold the madness; it's like the worst parts of Reddit and Twitter had a baby and it was raised by SJW extremists. Only one word can describe this: cringe…
I don’t care what you think about Elon, he clearly has some creative ideas on how to make Twitter the go-to platform for video creators. Moreover, this will benefit all types of content creators, not just YouTubers, right-wingers, or left-wingers (at least the ones that aren't crazy)
If anything was ever going to compete against YouTube, it is this version of Twitter.
I'm pumped to see what happens next.
Cheerio and have a great weekend,
Isaiah
Well, it seems that the Twitter deal is once again on hold (or at least complicated again). We’ll see. We’ll see. Love you and happy Friday! Tell me what you think in the comments.

Just read the comment by Jade. Thanks, good to know. I wonder, is it likely that D.buzz will affect the legacy Twitter Ites, that may be hanging out (for morbid curiosity), a view of cogent exchanges in full spectrum, which had previously been filtered and replaced by echoes? I don't laud praise on Musk, although I think he is extraordinary and brilliant person by most measures, but I do hope something with that level of recognition gets elevated to compete with YouTube. YT content is massive, often immensely useful, but far too often leaves the best in the sieve in service of the "narrative" Dejour. With that said, I will (ugh) "Google" it to see what's up.
