I watched the Medium Day keynote by Tony Stubblebine, Medium CEO and was really disappointed in his views. He was very adamant in saying Twitter/X wouldn’t be around much longer. Based on the feedback I’ve heard about Medium this you, I’m sure X will be around long after Medium. I remember when you interviewed him and I didn’t get a warm feeling from him then. I wish you well on officer’s training and look forward to reading what you have to say.
Thanks, James! Yeah I just told another writer that I wish I could interview Tony again. It was too early, I felt, to lob the criticisms people had against him because many of the former Medium updates scared writers before as well.
It's safe to say the platform is creatively bankrupt at the hands of its own staff. At this point I hope they kick me off with my next few articles.
I really regret what happened to Medium. Would probably invest more time and energy into Substack, but suspect it's only a matter of time until they too jump the shark.
Yeah. Piss poor pay, a lack of diverse thoughts, and a stubborn CEO that doesn't seem to care what the grassroots writers think. Medium really went downhill.
I wish I could give Tony a different interview today but at that time it was too early to tell what would happen.
What are men going to do about the male loneliness epidemic? Are they going to make friends with other men or not? Are they going to create communes where men can live and work and play together? Are men going to start fostering and adopting boys in foster care and orphanages? Are going to start housing homeless men in their homes? What solutions are men coming up with to help each other?
Great post. Peterson kickstarted my journey into adulthood and fatherhood. But really, he was just a gateway to Jung. I ended up devouring dozens of Jungian books.
Also, Glad to see you focusing more on Substack.
I recall listening to a podcast you were on where you were considering returning to higher education. So I’d be interested in reading more about your decision to go to officer training.
Good article! I probably will ditch my Medium subscription when its up.
So true. Medium is as WOKE as it gets. I only use it for Tech related content.

I was hoping you could interview again him when I watched it. Love to see Tony answer some tough questions.
Thank you for sharing some very true things.

Two words friend: SCREW. MEDIUM.
You left Medium? What took you so long?
Fair!
