Two Minutes On What's Happening With The Dollar Right Now
It will get worse before it gets worse
"There's nowhere safe to stand in a massacre." - Leonard Cohen
I found something salient in the news that no one is talking about.
It's going to affect everything.
Your portfolio, your retirement, your standard of living.
But first, a quick breakdown of what's happening:
Late Sunday night, the British Pound flash-crashed against the USD; it fell 4% in 10 minutes which is some freaking Argentian levels of currency debasement.
The Dollar remains the most stable currency EVEN AFTER the insane printing.
Russia sabotaged its own NordStream pipeline by exploding it.
So why care about any of this?
Um, hey, dummy, why would Russia destroy their own pipeline? Have you asked yourself that question? No, of course not, you're too busy looking at pictures of puppies on Instagram.
Russia was attempting to set up direct Ruble exchanges for Russia via NordStream, effectively creating a natural gas-backed currency to compete with the American petrodollar. The plan was to set up swap facilities with nations like Italy that are breaking from Brussels — now, however, with no means of transporting that gas, this plan has been significantly hindered.
So now Russia, Germany, and a large part of Eastern Europe are screwed and will have to rely on America to save the day, most likely.
I'm not saying the US did it to ensure complete reliance on the dollar, but I'm not saying they didn't do it either.
Fucking crazy times, man.
Meanwhile, the Pound, Euro, and Yuan are dumping into oblivion.
The reason the pound is dumping is that shit is getting real in the global economy and people know that the pound is dogshit, so don't want to be left holding useless paper.
You guys may be critics of the dollar but it's the single best asset to hold over the past year, and will continue to be for the next year and a half. The dollar is backed by the world economy because everyone is subject to the US empire, the pound is backed by nothing.
All I can say is that America is making big moves right now:
China is collapsing economically
Russia is collapsing militarily
Europe is about to starve & freeze to death
Fed Chairman Jerome Powell is relentlessly raising rates to speed the rest of the world into the ‘Dollar Milkshake’ scenario
The American media and experts seem to agree that Russia is behind the Nordstream strike. They don't offer any logic or evidence for their claims and personally, I don't see any reason why Russia would bomb the pipeline they themselves have been pushing for.
It makes no sense.
If I had to play the Devil's Advocate I'd say blowing up the pipeline could be Russia's hail merry for Germany to support ending the war. But that's all I got.
Crazy times, indeed.
I’ll leave you with this: Timeless investing wisdom is that “Cash is king during a recession;” specifically, American cash.
That’s what I’m holding right now as the world burns.
Ever since I was a child it was my dream to become a financial advisor. Unfortunately, it never came true. Therefore I am not a financial advisor and you should do your own research and not just listen to random people on the internet. Nah l love the Gothic melodramatic tone it makes these Geopolitical updates that much more entertaining.Keep 'em rolling Isaiah!
Hey Isaiah, you might consider cross-posting your articles on peakd.com. When I click on the heart and "Like" your work, you probably don't earn any extra money when I do that. At least on peakd you will earn more money every time someone clicks it. No censorship there either.
Also, check out vigilante.tv for news regarding the dollar. I disagree that it's the best asset to hold "for the next year and a half". The american 10-year yield says otherwise. It has been, due to the bond market manipulation, but that's ending now, by design.
Also, regarding "everyone is subject to the US empire", I wouldn't say everyone, and "subject to" is subjective. Other than their tyranny, I am not subject to them, their maritime law, or their monetary system. No need to fight a tyrant, just render him obsolete (food, security, energy and money). Once people realize they don't need to vote for their enslavement anymore, the beast will die off. imo :)
Great article as always Isaiah, thank you!
