The Kennedys are America’s Camelot. They were a high watermark for American politics and represented everything possible in America — especially for immigrants and young people.
But for all their power and money, the Kennedys couldn’t escape tragedy.
Over the years, the Kennedy family has been struck by so much death it’s enough to make even the most jaded soul question the existence of curses and conspiracies.
And eerily enough, it all does seem to stem from one event — the lobotomy of Rosemary Kennedy.
The Beginnings of a ‘Kennedy Curse’
Rosemary Kennedy was JFK’s sister: She was described as beautiful and very polite to everyone. However, Rosemary was born with a birth defect that made her prone to seizures and violent outbursts.
The head of the family, Joseph P. Kennedy, Sr., couldn’t have this.
His sons needed to become presidents and senators — not have a mentally disabled sister. So, he decided to have doctors poke around Rosemary’s frontal lobe with a metal rod when she was only 23 years old, better known as a lobotomy.
Rosemary's sister, Kathleen "Kick" Kennedy, worked on a newspaper at the time. She dove deep into research on lobotomies and, deeply concerned, told her father “Dad, this isn’t what we want for Rosie.” He ignored her.
Kennedy Sr. went ahead with the risky procedure without even notifying his wife, and, unfortunately, the surgery was a complete failure. Rosemary was left invalid, unable to talk or care for herself—essentially a vegetable.
Here’s a disturbing excerpt from the surgery:
We went through the top of the head, I think she was awake. She had a mild tranquilizer. I made a surgical incision in the brain through the skull. It was near the front. It was on both sides. We just made a small incision, no more than an inch." The instrument Dr. Watts used looked like a butter knife. He swung it up and down to cut brain tissue. "We put an instrument inside", he said. As Dr. Watts cut, Dr. Freeman asked Rosemary some questions. For example, he asked her to recite the Lord's Prayer or sing "God Bless America" or count backwards..... "We made an estimate on how far to cut based on how she responded." ..... When she began to become incoherent, they stopped
Imagine icepicking people’s heads until they start gargling incoherently as your day job.
The saddest thing about this is that waiting for feedback to know when to stop cutting is so obviously flawed since you only know when to stop when it's too late. I find it fascinating how arrogant these 20th-century surgeons were.
And the big irony here is that Rosemary Kennedy, who was deemed a risk of ruining their family image and reputation, outlived every one of her family members in an insane asylum…
…and if there was ever such a thing as Karma, it proved to be true after her lobotomy.
What Happens When You Declare War on the CIA
Before JFK’s death, the Kennedy family faced two more tragedies.
In 1944, JFK’s older brother Joe Jr. died when his plane exploded during a World War II mission.
Then in 1963, JFK’s wife, Jackie, suffered a miscarriage and delivered a stillborn baby girl prematurely. Jackie later said that she believed this daughter would have been the most like JFK.
A few months later, Jackie stood next to JFK when he was assassinated in Dallas, Texas. The official story is that Communist Lee Harvey Oswald shot Kennedy from the Texas School Book Depository with a single bullet that accounted for seven wounds, and was then killed himself by Chicago mafia member Jack Ruby… and then Ruby also died of cancer in prison a few years later.
What a wacky little story.
Americans do not agree on much, but to this day, more than 60% of Americans still don’t believe the official story of JFK’s murder.
JFK was far from perfect. And let's not forget how history conveniently sugarcoats his flaws.
But he did put up a fight against the deep state:
JFK planned on pulling troops out of Vietnam and wanted to break up the CIA into a million pieces. This made a lot of people very unhappy.
He was one of the only presidents who wanted to audit the Federal Reserve, the most powerful bank in America.
In 1997, the John F. Kennedy Assassination Records Review Board released a pile of records from the Kennedy era. In it was a 1962 document called “Operation Northwoods,” a detailed plan by the CIA to create fake attacks on U.S. citizens — all designed to appear conducted by Cuba. JFK opposed this.
JFK is what happens when you declare war on the CIA.
For the American public, at least, the final nail in the coffin of the “lone gunman” theory was when JFK’s brother Robert F. Kennedy — who also starkly opposed the CIA — was assassinated. For me, a coincidence is when you find out the guy next to you on the plane is reading the same book as you.
But five years after your brother was assassinated by a “lone gunman,” getting shot in the head by another “lone gunman” while you’re campaigning to be the next president?
Hm. Hm indeed.
Final Thought
What was done to Rosemary Kennedy was criminal. She was lobotomized because "she acted rebellious."
Acting rebellious at the age of 23? What a joke.
I wish the Kennedy family, especially John and Robert who dedicated their lives to disrupting the establishment, could have had happier endings.
And I don't buy into the whole Kennedy curse nonsense. The Kennedys, just like other families, are bound to a destiny. I'm not trying to be cheesy, but it's like the Jacksons being drawn to music or the Roosevelts to politics. The Kennedys are meant to challenge the American establishment, plain and simple.
No shocker that RFK Jr. got caught up in the same revolution his family fought.
I mean, Jesus, the man’s father and uncle were likely killed by the CIA. Whether you love him or hate him, it's worth giving him a fair shake.
How his story unfolds in 2024 will impact America for years to come.
