The Nord Stream 2 pipeline is now memory holed, the media switched the attention with:
Ohio train explosion
Aliens
Balloons
In case you forgot, Russia's Baltic Sea oil pipelines were destroyed in a spectacular and mysterious explosion leaving the US government with some explaining to do.
Now, intrepid Pulitzer-winning journalist Seymour Hersh — who famously uncovered the My Lai Massacre and its cover-up during the Vietnam War — has found hard evidence against the US:
Last June, the Navy divers, operating under the cover of a widely publicized mid-summer NATO exercise known as BALTOPS 22, planted the remotely triggered explosives that, three months later, destroyed three of the four Nord Stream pipelines, according to a source with direct knowledge of the operational planning.
Two of the pipelines, which were known collectively as Nord Stream 1, had been providing Germany and much of Western Europe with cheap Russian natural gas for more than a decade. A second pair of pipelines, called Nord Stream 2, had been built but were not yet operational. Now, with Russian troops massing on the Ukrainian border and the bloodiest war in Europe since 1945 looming, President Joseph Biden saw the pipelines as a vehicle for Vladimir Putin to weaponize natural gas for his political and territorial ambitions.
Why did America blow up Nord Stream?
First, ask yourself, why would Russia want to blow up its own pipeline?
It doesn't make sense when they could just shut the gas off.
In reality, only four countries can do underwater demolitions of this scale: The United States, Russia, China, and Great Britain.
So, why America?
Since its inception, the Nord Stream pipelines challenged Western powers. Drawing ire from Washington and NATO countries alike, with Russian oligarchs in Putin's circle largely owning the company controlling the pipeline.
The Nord Stream pipeline provided a direct route for Russian natural gas to Germany, which had an abundance of it at incredibly low prices. This allowed its businesses and households to not only make use of the resource but also generate profits from selling excess supplies throughout Europe
51% of the pipeline was owned by Russians.
According to Hersh, the Biden Administration took extraordinary measures to ensure the utmost secrecy surrounding their covert operations, enlisting only Navy graduates from a rigorous dive school in Panama City.
These divers were Navy-exclusive and held the advantage of not having an obligation to brief Congress on any covert operations - allowing them the freedom necessary for confidential mission planning.
America’s political fears were real: Putin had achieved an extra lucrative revenue stream and as Europe increasingly relied on Russia for lower-cost natural gas it would jeopardize America's standing across Western Europe.
Could all of this be conjecture?
Bad fiction?
No. Not likely. As Secretary of State Tony Blinken said of the president he was vehemently against the Nord Stream 2 pipeline and its completion. “I know his strong conviction that this is a bad idea, the Nord Stream 2,” he said. “I know that he [Biden] would have us use every persuasive tool that we have to convince our friends and partners, including Germany, not to move forward with it.”
Russia wants UN probe into Nord Stream blasts
Earlier this week a legislative proposal citing Seymour Hersh’s expose was drafted, including a demand for an independent UN investigation into the Nord Stream explosions.
The proposal describes the blasts as “an act of international terrorism” and a “monstrous sabotage,” calling on the UN to investigate the matter and urgently hold a special session to discuss possible sanctions against those responsible.
In short, this is more than an act of war.
It's a violation of international and U.S. law. The fact that only Russia calls for a full investigation is quite telling.
Europe knows America did it. America knows America did it. We don't look into it any further because we know America did it. Essentially America can do whatever it wants with western Europe, this includes destroying their vital and largest infrastructure projects.
As the Russian parliamentary wrote of Biden and America after the blast, “they gave the illegal order and bears full responsibility for the multi-billion-dollar damage to the infrastructure of Russia, Germany, France and the Netherlands,” according to the document. "The pipeline sabotage will inflict long-term damage to the security, economy and environment of the entire region."
The only person who doesn't believe America did it is the White House: “This is false and complete fiction," Adrienne Watson, a White House spokesperson, said in an email.

Imagine if the same thing happened to us. Our military and intelligence agencies are out of control. There are some speaking out. RageAgainstWar.com is having an event in DC this weekend with speakers like Ron Paul, Tulsi Gabbard, Dennis Kucinich, Jimmy Dore. You should check it out.
